Very fine original Austro-Hungarian medal here, commemorating 50 years of the rule of Emperor Franz Josef I. 4 classes of this medal were struck. This is the bronze class awarded to military servicemen. A dizzying amount of variation exist, as Austro-Hungary did not have a state mint, relying on many small metalsmith shops to create the necessary number.
