A nice original Hungarian "Medal of Mining Merit" - 2nd class medal in silver. It was elaborated into three classes in 1957 under the leadership of Kadar Janos. 
 
Awarded for years of service, the recipient would have either spent a number of years "below ground" or a greater number of years "above ground", in the service of the mining industry.
