A pension certificate for a lieutenant colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, dated 1954. This certificate also commemorates 32 years of service. Unfortunately the original ID photo is lost to time. A nice affordable piece of Soviet ephemera. 
 
The MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR) was headed by the Minister of Interior and responsible for many internal services in the Soviet Union such as law enforcement and prisons, the Internal Troops, Traffic Safety, the Gulag system, and the internal migration system.
