A gorgeous and complex plaque here. This plaque commemorates the 100 year jubilee of the birth of Vladimir Lenin, which was celebrated in 1970. It is constructed of a felted wood base adorned with plastic lettering, two additional felted decorations at the low center, a bas relief of Lenin's profile in the center, and a metal (likely aluminum) "100" at the top center. The only obvious sign of wear is the missing "-" between 1870-1970, which is visible in photos.
This plaque would likely have been displayed in a Soviet house of culture of similar state building and would have been used for an official celebration of the jubilee. It measures at 17" across and roughly 3/4" thick. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind centerpiece for your Soviet collection, look no further! This is the only example that is currently available on the western market.
